Introduction I Can't Live Without TV or A/C! Your rich uncle wants you to spend the summer living with him on his ranch in northern Starr County. You would love to do it, but the area where he lives does not have power lines. You don't think that you could stand to live without air conditioning and other electrical devices. He offers a compromise: he will buy the materials needed to generate and store electricity if you will tell him what he should buy. He does have two conditions. First, he wants the electricity to be generated from a clean energy source. Second, he does not want to buy a lot of unnecessary equipment. Your task is to convince your uncle to buy the materials you think will be needed to keep you powered-up for the summer. In order to do this, you will need to: 1. Learn what qualifies as a clean energy source. 2. Determine how much electricity you will use on a daily basis. 3. Decide the best source of power for your uncle's location. 4. Find the necessary equipment needed to generate the electricity you plan to use. 5. Write a proposal to persuade your uncle to buy this equipment. |
